BNSF 5971 |
Description: |
Eastbound at Attica Jct., KS, this is BNSF train Y-DHTEDY, corn mash empties. This train moves Cargill's "Sweet Bran" cattle feed, a corn wet-milling by-product, from the Cargill plant in Eddyville, IA to Dalhart, TX. This is the empty train returning to Iowa. The cars are aluminum Bethgon Coalporters, usually with a majority sporting BN markings, having been reassigned from coal service. They are equipped with Shur-Lok brand roll tarps, similar to the ones manufactured for use on grain hauling semi truck trailers, to prevent the slurry-like product from being exposed to the elements and spoiling en-route. Thanks to Zach Pumphery for this info. |
