UP 762, shown in the yard at Salina, KS, was EMD GP35 demonstrator 5652 built in July 1963, and operated in demonstrator service with GP35 5654 and DD35 demonstrators 5653 and 5655 before being sold to UP in 5/64. Retired by UP in 6/85, she was stored for a number of years on the Council Bluffs Railway, finally scrapped at Illinois Railway Supply in 11/94. Date of this photo approximate. |
