Title:  UP 6936
Description:  Long before her days as a celebrity, UP 6936 is shown in a Mutt & Jeff lashup with GP35 747 on a westbound at North Platte. UP 6936 was withdrawn from regular freight service and transferred to the Heritage Fleet 5/6/85. UP 747 was not so lucky. Retired 6/25/85, she went to the AAR test facility in Pueblo, CO. Disposition unknown. Date of photo approximate.

Description:  UP 762, shown in the yard at Salina, KS, was EMD GP35 demonstrator 5652 built in July 1963, and operated in demonstrator service with GP35 5654 and DD35 demonstrators 5653 and 5655 before being sold to UP in 5/64. Retired by UP in 6/85, she was stored for a number of years on the Council Bluffs Railway, finally scrapped at Illinois Railway Supply in 11/94. Date of this photo approximate.
