CHS 44 tonner |
Description: |
This unlettered GE 44 tonner was at an elevator off of Utah Street in Buffalo, IA, which I believe is the CHS "East Elevator". She's misidentified elsewhere on this site as formerly being Soo 330, but Soo 330 was a Phase I 44 tonner with buttonhole-style hood vents. This is a Phase IV unit, and was at this location since 1975 when she came from Bayside Elevator Co. (Reserve, LA), ex-Cook Industries "Captain Cook" (Reserve, LA), nee-PRR 9324, GE serial 30142, built 3/49. A Google street view dated 2015 shows her still at this location, although I'm told she's now gone. |
